Wyrdtouched, the Novel

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha, I’ve known something y’all haven’t for a couple of months, but I kept it on the down-low because the author asked me to. But now she’s spilled the beans, so I can too.

Announcement thingy here: http://blog.alisfranklin.com/2014/02/27/you-gais-imma-gonna-be-an-author/

I know this unbelievably talented writer whose fan work knocked my sox off last year. Like many of us, she’s had some epic original fiction kicking around for ‘the better part’ of her life.

Well, she got an agent. A damned good agent. And then she got to talk to a lot of VERY interested editors, about a brand new, shiny, extremely relevant mainstream urban fantasy series with…drumroll please…queer male characters. Who are not shy, or closeted, and who have lives and sex on the page and stuff.

This could not have happened in mainstream science fiction and fantasy even five or ten years ago.

I’m so glad it’s happening now. Not only because it gives me hope for my Lonhra Sequence novels, but because it means I will have better fantasy books to read in the near future.

Ha!

Update: May 14, 2014: We have publication date and Goodreads data!

  1. Hee! Thank you so much. /hugs

I have to admit it’s been a pretty intense ride to get to this point… and things are really only just beginning. So… deep breaths, and here’s to the future! 😀

  2. May it be a great one. I’m so proud of you, Alis…and now I have a real reason to get those little ‘Vows’ books done as a publication gift for you.
