2014 Phoenix Comic Con

…has really been going on since Wednesday night, for a lot of people. I plan to be there sometime tomorrow, Saturday June 7. I’m not on panels, I’m not pitching my book, I’m not in the dealer’s room. I’m just going for fun.

So, it’s not as huge as San Diego Comic Con or DragonCon. On the other hand, it’s not San Diego Comic Con or DragonCon. Still, expect a cast of thousands, and long lines to get into popular panels, workshops, and discussions.

Update: I have gone, seen, and done. Wow, this con has grown over the years. I think if I do it next year I might spring for nearby hotel and four-day membership. Just to take it all in. I met wonderful new-to-me authors and artists, strolled through the vendor space, and got stuck in very slow lines. Being Phoenix, any prolonged exposure to outside was courting heatstroke, even with me in reasonable clothing. The hotels and convention center proper were fairly cold, and ice-water stations were easily found.

On the whole, I have to admit it was kind of like a forced march with glitter.
