Art

I grew up surrounded by the landscapes and cultures of the American Southwest. I love archaeology, folklore, myth, and the artifacts that humans create around them.

Silversmithing happened when I was fourteen, followed by fiber art and beadwork when I was twenty. Since 1998 I’ve created books combining all my craft skills into visual sequential book sculptures, using out of copyright or original text and images to create handheld installation art.

I’ve been a commercial artist for two decades. My fine-craft artwork is represented by several agencies, and is collected by private, corporate, and institutional collectors (including the special collections libraries of twelve major universities.) In my day job, I weld very tiny circuits.

In the spring of 2025, I will be an artist in residence for several weeks at the gorgeous Chateau Orquevaux, in France. I’m currently planning the largest book/fiber art installation I’ve ever done, for this residency.

(I didn’t stop creating book art in 2019, I just haven’t updated these pages. Check blog posts for the years 2020 onward, to see what I’ve done.)
